Study by Domain

Deep-dive into each exam domain. Lessons cover key concepts, common traps, and what the exam actually tests.

Mock Exam

Simulate the real CCA-F exam experience.

  • 60 questions drawn proportionally from all 5 domains
  • 120 minutes — same as the real exam
  • 720 out of 1000 to pass
  • You can flag questions and come back to them
  • No explanations shown until you submit

Exam Day Guide

Everything you need to know before, during, and after your CCA-F exam.

Before the Exam

  • Block 2.5 hours in your calendar (2h exam + 30min buffer for proctoring setup)
  • Rest well. Multiple people who passed said the exam is mentally exhausting
  • Close all unnecessary tabs and apps — ProctorFree records your screen
  • Use a stable internet connection. If it drops during the exam, you will lose time

ProctorFree Setup

Important: When you finish the exam, you must manually stop ProctorFree. It will not stop on its own.
  • When you open the exam link, ProctorFree walks you through installing its app
  • It will ask for screen, webcam, and microphone access — grant all three
  • You will do an identity verification step before the exam starts

During the Exam

  • 60 questions, 2 hours. That is 2 minutes per question
  • You CAN flag questions and come back to them — use this
  • Read every word of the scenario. The deciding factor between two plausible answers is often buried in the context
  • When two answers both seem correct, look for which one follows a core principle (minimal footprint, human oversight for irreversible actions, security-conscious design)
  • Do not rush. Engineers who passed (725-812 range) all said the same thing: slow down

What Others Learned

Engineer A (725/1000): The real challenge is not knowledge — it is how the questions are framed.
Engineer B (780/1000): Do not underestimate the exam just because you are nailing practice runs.
Engineer C (812/1000): The real exam is noticeably harder than any practice tools.
Engineer D: I was about to enter the exam and saw a warning saying I should have read the guide and done the exercises. I had no idea there were exercises. Instead of starting the exam, I opened the guide and read it first. Many questions in the actual exam had near-exact quotes from the guide in the answer options — much easier to spot if you've read it.
Read the official exam guide before taking the exam. It contains exercises, terminology, and phrasing that appear directly in exam questions. This is not optional prep — it's the single highest-ROI thing you can do. Download the exam guide (PDF)
Score Translation: Practice scores of 900+ translate to ~750-800 on the real exam. Expect a drop of 100-150 points.
